Though uprooted from his native California in the early ’70s, Porter’s upbringing in Guatemala as a child Baha’i pioneer brought a Latin direction into his life and music. Since the early ‘80s, KC was lead vocalist for many of the top US Latin market commercials and albums, he would go on to produce, arrange and compose for superstars Carlos Santana, Michael Jackson, Selena, Ricky Martin, Toni Braxton, Bon Jovi, Boyz II Men, Celine Dion, Janet Jackson, Laura Pausini, Michael Bublé, Shakira, Mariah Carey & many more. He was a featured producer and lead vocalist on Santana’s multi-platinum selling album Supernatural and for music featured in various films including “The Mexican” and “Mr. & Mrs. Smith”. He is a former governor of NARAS, and trustee of LARAS, he is the CEO of WorldBeat Productions and co-founder of Oneness, a non-profit that fights racism through music and the arts. Winner of multiple Grammys and Latin Grammys for his work with Carlos Santana, Laura Pausini, Maná, Ricky Martin, and others, Latin Grammy for Producer of the Year 2001, as well as numerous nominations in various categories including Best Engineered Album, etc. Porter’s background as a songwriter led to a number of joint ventures with Famous Music, MCA Music and subsequently Universal Music to sign top singer/songwriters and producers in the Latin world. Porter recently released, Cruzanderos, his latest solo album in Spanish featuring guest collaborations from La India, Gaby Moreno, Arturo Sandoval, Gustavo Santaolalla & more and he continues to produce top Latin artists like Laura Pausini, Gian Marco, Carlos Rivera, Panteón Rococo, as well as other international superstars.
