Nina Wadia OBE is an award-winning actress celebrated for her versatility across television, film and theatre. She is best known for the iconic, Emmy-winning sketch show Goodness Gracious Me and for her role as Zainab Masood in BBC One’s EastEnders, for which she won Best Comedy Performance and Best Onscreen Partnership at the British Soap Awards.
Her television credits include Netflix’s The Sandman, ITVX’s Count Abdulla, The Hitmen, Stephen Merchant’s The Outlaws, Midsomer Murders, Death in Paradise, MAXXX, Still Open All Hours, Holby City, and children’s favourites Tweedy & Fluff and Danny & Mick. She has also appeared in Too Close, Never Too Late, The Family Secret, Murder on the Blackpool Express and the YouTube Original series Origin.
On film, Nina has appeared in Bend It Like Beckham, Namaste London, Aladdin opposite Will Smith, A Street Cat Named Bob and its sequel, as well as Code 46, Sixth Happiness and Four, which she also executive produced. Recent films include Repeat, The Stranger in Our Bed and Followers.
A respected presenter, Nina has hosted The One Show, The Wright Stuff and Sunday Morning Live. Her stage work includes performances with Mark Rylance in Macbeth, Bleak Expectations in the West End, The Vagina Monologues and the national tour of Now! That’s What I Call a Musical.
